Connecting Producers and Consumers: GrowLIFE Joins Forces with Reforma Agrária

GrowLIFE explores how we can strengthen the relationship between those who produce food and those who consume it — not just through conversation, but through action.

One way we do this is by creating spaces where these connections can happen, such as the Farmer’s Open Days, hosted by the Escolas de Hotelaria e Turismo de Portugal.

We also want to ensure that people can access sustainable food more easily in their day-to-day lives. Supporting short supply chains and local consumption helps us build stronger local food networks and more direct, transparent relationships between producers and consumers.

In this spirit, we’re excited to announce a new collaboration with Reforma Agrária, an innovative online platform that emerged from a reflection on the quality of our food and our lifestyle — a question that has become increasingly urgent in today’s urban contexts. Reforma Agrária functions as an e-Marketplace for agricultural products and offers:

  • Visibility for local producers, with no hidden fees or commissions
  • Direct purchasing and payment, with farmers receiving funds directly
  • Full control for farmers, who set their own prices, quantities, and sales terms
  • A commitment to sustainability, with transparent agricultural practices at the forefront
  • Promotion of local fairs and markets, helping to revitalise community food systems
  • A seed exchange bank, where users can offer, request, or swap plants, seeds, and cuttings
  • A space for knowledge sharing, through a dedicated Facebook group
  • Opportunities for producers to join fairs, sell in advance, and coordinate deliveries
  • A feedback platform, where users can share opinions on markets and events

Today, Reforma Agrária brings together more than 1,150 local producers, including 146 verified for their sustainable practices.

As part of this collaboration, producers who collaborate with GrowLIFE will be featured on Reforma Agrária with a special “GrowLIFE” tag on their profiles — making them easier to find and support. Consumers will also be able to discover and connect with these producers directly through the platform.

Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more soon about how this partnership will help grow a stronger, more sustainable food system for all.
